“Start a “Free Assange” organising committee in Moscow!”. These were the simple instructions from Julian to a supporter in Moscow. Couldn’t be much clearer, could it? Julian wants people to start “Free Assange” groups in their town or city to organise actions demanding he be freed.
The strategy of people organising together in a group to build the campaign in their town or city is the only way any political campaign in history has been won or waged. This goes for the civil rights movement, labor struggles, the campaign to Free Mandela, environment struggles or the anti-war movement. Julian is just articulating this simple truth with a simple instruction.
Julian also encouraged people to organise “blocks” of Assange supporters in their workplaces and unions. We have seen this developing with groups such as Doctors4Assange forming

WORKPLACE “BLOCKS” OR ORGANISATIONS
In a letter sent to a supporter in November 2019 he stated: “Dear Anne-Marie, You ask what you can do to fight for my freedom? Use your strongest skills, friends, resources and associations. If you are a nurse, gather nurses, create a bloc in the nurses union, etc! defend.wikileaks.org JPA
